Pipeline Viewer

Pipeline Viewer

Handling all the video and profiler data recorded during a typical pipeline investigation is a challenge.  It is not enough to just record the data but it must be presented to the client in a manner that he/she can quickly and easily mine into the data to get to the specific information that interests them.  At the same time, raw data needs to be easily accessible so specific measurements and analysis can be made.

SeaView Systems has developed a software package that allows us to present all our recorded data in one package.  The end-user is able to "virtually" walk down the pipeline while viewing 3 synchronous streams of video.  Pre-specified features of interest such as out-of-round or sediment depth are displayed as a chromatic display by changing the color of the pipeline wall surface.

Features:

Web Based format
The viewer is presented on a standard web browser such as Internet Explorer.  Currently, the report will be provided on an external hard drive.  Future options will supplement the hard drive by providing clients with a username and password so the data can be accessed throughout an organization directly from the SeaView Systems website.

Foot-by-Foot instrumentation
The user can either step through the virtual pipeline one foot at a time or can scroll directly to the point of interest.
3 channels of synchronous video
The user can scroll forward through video looking for features of interest.  Embedded into each channel of video is line distance along with other parameter.  Using line distance as a reference, the user can then go directly to the sonar data recorded at that point.  Alternatively, given a feature on the sonar record, the user can quickly access the video by using the embedded line distance as the reference.
Large Format pop up screens
Should the user need to be able to view the data in detail, each screen of video as well as the virtual 3D viewer can be brought up in individual screens for a detailed view.
Access to Raw Data
The user is able to download the raw sonar data and then use the Sonar acquisition/playback software to show the sonar data just as it appeared the moment it was recorded.  All analog data is preserved.
